individual psychotherapy
βIt takes enormous trust and courage to allow yourself to remember.β Bessel van der Kolk
At this moment of your life, you may be dealing with new life challenges and are feeling overwhelmed. Or maybe you have a lasting problem that keeps on coming back. Most of us developed all kinds of strategies to deal with life challenges and a lot of those strategies were developed early on in our lives without having a lot of control over them. Maybe you decide you wanted to address some of them now and therapy is a place to do that. By building safety and trust with another human being, we can begin to unpack, examine and rebuild our inner world. There will be some grief as part of this journey but it also evokes joy.
In my work with you, I am direct, engaged, and collaborative. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed and embedded within a social justice framework blending contemporary relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy with somatic interventions, EMDR, attachment theory, neuroscience, and climate-aware practice. In addition to discussing and free-associating about your current and historical life experiences, particularly in the context of relationships, we may work with dreams, patterns of thought, emotional responses, or the language of the body. Together, we will draw on your strengths and capacities to understand where you may feel stuck and to support meaningful, sustainable change.
I tend to work best with people who are seeking deep and lasting change, rather than a quick fix. They are curious about themselves and willing to look honestly at patterns, emotions, and relationships, even when that process feels uncomfortable or uncertain. They understand that meaningful growth takes time, and they are ready to engage in that process with care and commitment.
My goal is to offer psychotherapy that is culturally humble, trauma-informed, and deeply respectful of your lived experience. I work with adults of all genders and backgrounds, and I tailor our work together to your unique concerns, values, and social context. Therapy is a shared process, and I see it as a space where curiosity, honesty, and care can support healing and growth over time.

Climate-aware psychotherapy integrates awareness of the climate crisis into the therapeutic process, recognizing that ecological loss, uncertainty and environmental change can affect our mental health, relationships and sense of future. This approach holds space for emotions such as grief, anxiety and overwhelm while connecting them to personal history, cultural context and systems of meaning. It does not replace other forms of therapy but expands the lens through which we understand and support your experience.

Social justice psychotherapy recognizes that our mental health is shaped not only by personal history but also by the systems and structures we live within. It addresses how oppression, privilege and systemic inequities affect our identities, relationships and well-being. This approach integrates awareness of race, gender, class, sexuality, culture, ability and other identity markers into the therapeutic process, ensuring the work is culturally humble, inclusive and responsive. Social justice psychotherapy also supports clients in exploring how their struggles are connected to larger societal forces, while building the resilience, agency and community needed to live in alignment with their values.
